What is the pet doing human things trend?
By the BlinkPop team · Updated
Some of the most shared AI clips on TikTok this autumn show pets doing ordinary human errands and failing at them. The best known is a golden retriever at a pizza place: it taps its credit card, the terminal flashes a red X, it tries again, and another dog walks up, pays and takes the pizza. The comments are full of people tagging the friend whose card always gets declined.
The joke works because every pet already has a human face for it. The ears drop, the eyes go wide, and the last look into the camera says “this is not my fault”. Filmed like a friend’s phone video at the next table, it looks real enough for a second, and that second is what makes people watch it again.
Our generator puts your own pet in the scene. Upload a photo of your dog or cat and we redraw it at the table, in the car or at the wheel with its own breed, fur and markings, then animate the whole story with sound effects. The other characters are made up, and nothing in the clip shows a real brand.
How to make a funny animal AI video
Upload one clear photo of your dog or cat. Pick a scene and press Generate. Leave the sound on to get the beeps, the screech and the room around your pet, or choose silent if you want to add a trending sound in the app. The video is ready in two to four minutes, and the page can stay open in a background tab while it renders.
We first put your pet into the scene: sitting at the restaurant table with a card in its paws, at the wheel at the drive-thru, or in the driver’s seat on a test course. Then the video model plays out the story and ends on your pet looking straight into the camera. The result is a 12-second, 9:16 video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Tips for the funniest result
- Use a sharp photo where your pet’s face is fully visible, taken at its eye level. The last look into the camera is the punchline.
- One pet per photo. Dogs and cats work best.
- Any background is fine: we redraw your pet in the new scene.
- Put the setup in your caption: “when payday is still 9 days away”.
- Turn on your platform’s AI label when you post.
What you get
- A 12-second MP4, vertical 9:16, at 480p, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
- Three scenes: Card Declined, Drive-Thru and Driving Test.
- Sound effects of the scene, or silent (no music, no voices).
- A price of 40 credits, and an automatic refund if generation fails.
Do you have to label AI videos on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram?
Yes, for realistic ones. A BlinkPop video puts a real face into a scene that never happened, which is exactly what the platforms ask you to disclose. Here is what each one says in its own words:
“We require creators to disclose AI-generated or altered content that seems realistic.”
“The policy requires people to label AI-generated content that contains realistic images, audio or video, in order to help viewers contextualize the video and prevent the potential spread of misleading content.”
“We will still display the "AI info" label for content we detect was generated by an AI tool.”
In practice: switch on the platform's AI-generated label (or add "made with AI" to the caption) whenever you post a BlinkPop video, and only use photos of people who agreed to it.
FAQ
What happens in the card declined video?
Your pet sits at a pizza restaurant table and taps its credit card on the waiter’s terminal. The screen shows a red X with an error beep, twice. Then a rival dog walks up, pays with a green check and carries the pizza away, and your pet turns to the camera with a betrayed face.
Which pets work?
Dogs and cats work best. Other furry pets often work too, as long as the photo shows the face clearly. This effect is for pets only; photos of people are turned away.
Does the video have sound?
Yes, by default: the sounds of the scene, such as the error beeps, the paper bag and the tyre screech, with no music or voices. Choose silent if you want to add a trending sound when you post.
Why is it 12 seconds?
Each scene is one short story: the setup, the fail and the look into the camera. Twelve seconds is enough to tell it without dead time, which keeps people watching to the end.
Will my pet look like my pet?
We keep its breed, size, fur colour and markings from your photo. A sharp photo taken at your pet’s eye level gives the closest likeness.
How long does it take, and what does it cost?
Usually two to four minutes, for 40 credits. If the video fails, the credits go straight back to your account.
